Re: Shot down german Aircraft - Slain, Ellon Aberdeenshire
The details are:-
There was plane crashed near Mill of Leask, Slains, Aberdeen. It was a school day in the spring of 1941 or 42, is may have been March or April as no crops has started to germinate It may well have been an RAF fighter, as it appears not to be a German Bomber. Anybody any ideas? |

Re: Shot down german Aircraft - Slain, Ellon Aberdeenshire
Nothing German on land in that location for Mar-Apr 1941 or 1942. You are going to have to be more specific to have any chance with identifying this crash, whatever nationality it is

Yes, sadly not much to go on other that the Eyewitness remembers is being March or April 1941 or 42.

Re: Shot down german Aircraft - Slain, Ellon Aberdeenshire
That rules that one out, I think it as follows :-
Spitfire , from RAF Peterhead on Tuesday 21st October 1941, Pitlurg, Aberdeenshire. P8588, Sgt (1376331) A.G. RUSSLL (pilot) RAFVR - injured. Aircraft written off! This ties up with the area (within a mile) on a school day - Tuesday, and when the field was not in Crop - October. |

Your question needs to be asked in the Allied not German site
