crash Mustang 316 Sqdn 5 March '45
Looking for further info about a crash with a 316 (Warszawski)Sqdn Mustang crashed 5 March 1945 near Helmond. Concerned Mustang P51 MkIII FX925 Piloted by F/Lt Stanislaw Litak. Would like to know who claimed this mustang and would like to know more about this pilot. Thanks!!

Nobody claimed. Mustang III FX925 SZ-U went down due to engine malfunction at about 15.30. Flew Ramrod 1484.
Por. pil. Stanisław Jan Litak, P.1725, b. 3.01.1918 Oświęcim. 1938 joined SPL Dęblin. After 1939 campaign through Rumania and France to Britain. Training, then 2 AGS, March 1942 to 58 OTU and in May to 316 Sqn. In August 1944 to a ferry unit for a rest. October 1944 to 316 Sqn. Awarded 2x KW and POPil. Credited with 2 x 1/2 V1. Buried Eindhoven-Woensel, grave 43, plot RR. |
