Looking for a Dakota mission Châteauroux (France) September 1944
I am looking for information concerning a Dakota mission on Châteauroux (France) . A rescue mission. the Dak landed at the begining of September 1944. Will try to gather more information.

This site lists missions during the war.
http://www.plan-sussex-1944.net/angl...nto_france.pdf If you skip down to September 1944 (starting on pdf page 162 of 170) you can find some missions involving Dakotas and the area around Châteauroux. Or, if you search for Châteauroux you should get 31 "hits" and starting from #31 and working backwards it appears that hits 31, 30, 29 involved C-47/Dakota planes. Hit 29 was on 5 September Hit 30 was on 8 September and hit 31 was on 13 September. Perhaps one of those is the mission you are seeking.
