Karl Ebert and Josef Wieser JG51 both later to JG2.

Hi would anybody happen to have the flugbuchs for the above pilots.
If known I would like to establish when they left JG51 to transfer to JG2, and also how they recorded their flights in their flugbuchs, ie. just werknummer, or just numeral codes?, or perhaps both?
Any help would be most appreciated.
Steve.

Re: Karl Ebert and Josef Wieser JG51 both later to JG2.

Steve,

Since no one seems to be coming forward with a copy of the flugbuch – I’ll provide what is probably the next best thing.

I don’t have the Flugbuch requested, but a photocopy of 2 of Karl Ebert’s Flugbuchs were for sale on ebay a while back and I took a copy of the details. I took the copy as articles on ebay don’t last very long to go back and take another look.

Anyway, the write up stated the following:

Quote:
Flugbuch Karl Ebert 3./JG 71, 5./JG 51, 7+8./JG 2, Arado Werke Einflug FW 190
Kein Original! Es geht in Buch 1 von Start 1066 - 1869 vom 23.7.1939 - 24.3.1942 und beginnt bei Messerschmitt in Augsburg mit 3 Starts auf Al 101 bis 23.7.1939. Weiter ab 3.8.1939 Reservejagdstaffel Bad Aibling Starts mit He 51, Ar 65, Ar 68, Avia 534, Ar 66 bis 26.8.1939. Danach 3./JG 71 Fürstenfeldbruck Starts mit Avia 534, Me 108, He 70, Me 109 D, Me 109 E, bis 8.11.1939. I sell world wide!!!
From this, it appears his first flight with 7./JG 2 was on 08.02.40 before switching to 8./JG 2, and taking his final flight with the unit on 14.11.42, before transferring out.

The few sample pages provided with the article are not very clear (poor copy) but it looks like he used alpha/numerical codes in the pre war period and WNrs in the war years.

Sorry – nothing on Josef Wieser Flugbuch.

Regards,

Craig…

Re: Karl Ebert and Josef Wieser JG51 both later to JG2.

Hi Craig, many thanks for providing the scan of the career of Karl Ebert which is of much help to me. Shame about the poor quality of the example copies of his flugbuch.
I've learnt a bit more about his postings and timelines so I'm very grateful.

If anybody could help with Wieser or Ebert I would be most grateful.
Kindest regs,
Steve.
