German losses on 22 July 1941

At around 17:45 the Ju 88s of KG 76 made a raid in the Krasnoye Selo area to the south of Leningrad under escort of JG 54 and I./ZG 26. Can anyone advise the losses suffered in Ju 88s and Bf 110s? I’m trying to determine the victory claims now made by the Soviet 7 IAK PVO now, as I have the ones for the VVS KBF. The KBF alone claimed two Bf 110 and several Ju 88. The Soviets put up a massive 75 fighters for this raid.

Re: German losses on 22 July 1941

Monaco, Thanks as there was a claim in I./JG 54 for a Soviet SB-2 which might explain there target. Still looking for any losses from KG 76 or damage from the raid on the 22 July 1941 and the Bf 110s with them. There were no claims made for Ju 87 so they are not on my to find list for this day.

Thank you for your reply Karsten but I am still looking for any information on losses of I/KG 76 for this day. By the way some one needs to upload those names into the Kracker Luftwaffe Archive.

Leo, I appreciate this information. Does I/ZG 26 report any losses this day to dogfights?

Re: German losses on 22 July 1941

Hi Nokose,

This may help a little...according to the Lageberichte from Flivo AOK 16 only "two aircraft" were lost on 22 July 1941. One was from KG 76 as mentioned below the other unidentified. You can find the Lageberichte for Luftflotte 1 on Jeff leach's site for "Free NARA files" T312 R546 (page 1448 for 22 July).
"Grasnogwardaysk" is an interesting phonetic spelling for Krasnogvardeysk (modern Gatchina)

Regards

Re: German losses on 22 July 1941

For those interested, these files are available from https://forum.axishistory.com//viewt...?f=48&t=223939

I knew this source, but was disappointed to find no Luftwaffe file when I checked it last year. Very good idea to checks Lufwtaffe reports in the AOK files, thanks for the tip.
