Looking for photos of Ju88As with Stab coding for KG30 for 1939-40 period
Hello,
For the EoE project I'm seeking photos of Ju88As from the following Stab units of KG30: 1) Stab/KG30: for Phoney War period, Western Campaign (May-June, 1940), early BoB July-August, 1940, and late BoB-Blitz from Oct-Dec. 1940. Right now I only have photography (3 photos) for one profile, which will depict 4D+AA, SD near Horsham, West Sussex, England on 09.09.40. I'm still seeking additional photography for that one which crashed, but remained relatively intact with a broken back. It appears to have carried no Gesch insignia, only a/c codes, so I presume that it must have been a recent replacement. 2) Stab I./KG30: I have photos of 4D+BB (ECPA photo from probably late 1939) for the Phoney War Period, and 4D+CB (FL Netherlands and front burned out 10.05.40). However, I lack any good photos, crashed or otherwise for June, 1940, July-Aug,1940, Sept. 1940, and Oct-Dec. 1940. 3) Stab II./KG30: I have a good photos of only one Ju88A, 4D+DC (probably from the BA Coll), representing the early part of the BoB (July-Aug), but need photos of a/c displaying markings and insignia for all other periods. 4) Stab III./KG30: I have 2 photos of 4D+CD SD 17.05.40 Zeeland Netherlands, and many photos of 4D+AD SD Pagham Hbr, Sussex, England, on 09.09.40, but need photography for profile candidates for all other periods through end of 1940. Who can help? I'm sure that there are many good photos of a/c from these units out there for the 1939-40 period, but I apparently either haven't located them or haven't yet got them catalogued in the EoE photo DB. Regards, |

Hi, Larry.
Don't know if this is one of the photos you already have, but it purports to be 4D+AA, and is apparently the aircraft which crash landed at Newells Farm, Nuthurst, on 9 September 1940. The tops of the letters AA (4D+AA) can just be seen. Image from e-bay, 22.07.2011 regards, Paul Last edited by obdl3945; 25th September 2013 at 04:15. |

Paul,
Yes, this is one of three photos of this a/c that we have in the EoE photo DB. Thanks for posting this. None of these photos show that this a/c carried any unit shield or insignia, only the codes 4D+AA. Regards, |

Hello Balazs,
The unit is correct but this is two years beyond the time frame of the EoE Project, which ends 31.12.40. However, I appreciate your taking the time to help. Regards, |

Hi Larry,
I have this picture which I believe is 4D+DA of Stab KG30. Coloring suggests (early) 1940. However, not 100% it's KG30: I think I see the first D, but low resolution makes it impossible to blow it up for more detail. From an eBay auction. Pieter |
