He115 shot down by CC Blenheim 27 June 1940?

Hi guys

In case it was overlooked in my earlier post, can anyone add to the following:

On 27 June 1940, a Blenheim attacked a He115 off the Dutch coast and fired "1,000 rounds" before breaking away. Can we identify this aircraft? Was it shot down/damaged? A Bf109 was also claimed shot down by the same CC Blenheim

Any ideas, please?

Cheers
Brian

T&E of 235 Sqn claim to have damaged one of four 109s that attacked them in CPOX2056 & T claimed to have damaged a 115 in CPOX5840. Nothing was claimed shot down or destroyed by the 2 survivors of the 6 sent out by 235. I have written about this day having contacted the only survivors from 82 & 235.

OK, Chris

But what was the the identity of the He115 and was it damaged?

I have seen a photo on a website of He115 ND+YL apparently damaged on this date! Any connection?

Cheers
Brian

Re: He115 shot down by CC Blenheim 27 June 1940?

The only information I have found is in the KTB of Seenotzentrale (Luft) Nord from 16.06.1940 - 30.06.1940. For 27.06.1940 at 13:45 it says: "On the south coast a Heinkel aircraft was attacked by a Blenheim and damaged. Rear gunner in the German aircraft was probably killed."

However, no damaged aircraft is reported in the usual sources, nor a killed rear gunner.

Hi Seaplanes,

this entry concerns rather He 111H 1./KG4 5J+JH (Uffz. Oskar Hoffmann KIA).
