Missions To Balikpapan
Is there a list anywhere or does someone know the missions flown to Balikpapan and what group/groups took part? Been fascinated by those missions flown to Balikpapan since I was a boy.
Thank you in advance, James Sontag

Re: Missions To Balikpapan
Hello James:
This link provides an interesting discussion of the Balikpapan operation, including the broader planning and command framework: http://www.ijnhonline.org/2016/05/26...s-borneo-1945/ There is also some discussion of the air component of theBalikpapan operation (focusing on the RAAF) in Mark Johnston's 'Whispering Death'. If you don't have access to this book I could send you scans. Contact me via PM if you want to do this. Hope that helps. Cheers Don W |
