Re: Unknown (?) pilots

There is no combat fatality with JG 51, or any fighter unit for that matter of a Hermann Scheidt - at least in any data I have. The only reference I've found for the guy, until now, is a mention in the ancient JG 51 history by Aders and Held.

On the other hand there was a Hermann Streit who was in the IV./JG 51 who made 7-8 claims between Dec-41 and Aug-43. And there was a Hermann Streit killed in a midair collision in Feb-44 with JG 105, possibly the same guy?

Could Scheidt & Streit have been the same guy?

As to "Emil Reif", could this be Hans Reiff from JG 3? (The only Reif I have is Karl Reif who had a claim with JG 300.)
