Question Karl und Wolfgang Roos(Ehrenpokal)

Hello!
I have a problem with Wolfgang Roos. He was a Fw. when he died Juli 25. 1944.
He was decorated with EK I und II, the golden frontflugspange and the Ehrenpokal at the time of his death (Fliegertod).
1) Does anyone know the circumstances about his death, unit, markings etc.?
2) Was he the one, who was part of Hansgeorg Bätcher´s crew in June 42"

In the book on EP recievers he is listed as a gunner, but in Brüttings book on Kampffliegerasse he is pictured with the text as being a mechanic (IF it is the same man??)

I got his brother covered - he was in KG 2 and died the second of Juli 1943.

The reason for all these questions is, that I would like to build models of their planes.
Thanks in advance
Christian Berring

Re: Karl und Wolfgang Roos(Ehrenpokal)

Christian,
Uffz Karl Roos (Do217K-1; U5+DP;w/nr 4584 6./KG2) was shot down on 16 May 1943. He was shot down by F/O B.R. Keele(with F/O G. Cowles) in Beaufighter V8617 of No. 604 Sqdn, Scorton. KG2's target was the port installations at Sunderland. U5+DP crashed into the sea c. 35 miles East of Sunderland. Roos' body was washed ashore at Blackhall Rocks (South of Sunderalnd) on 30 June 1943 and he was buried at Acklam Cemetery, Thornaby on Tees under that date. Do you have a picture of him that you are willingf to share?
