This documentary on YouTube (in French) concerning ex Legionnaires, appears to interview a former Fw190 pilot (with Luftwaffe photos) from 8:37

Sadly I dont speak French. Please can anybody help.

A very interesting character, apparently he joined the Legion after his family was killed in the war.

As a fighter ace, he was credited with 102 aerial victories of which 49 victories were claimed over the Eastern Front. Among his victories over the Western Front are at least 2 four-engine bombers. He was a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross Freytag had been nominated for the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves, but the war ended before the paperwork had been processed.

Thank you for the name of the pilot Jim P., my grandson showed me the clip on a device with a small screen, I was not familiar with the site and unaware of any caption beneath the movie content or obviously would not have bothered members here. I made a mistake by suggesting to my grandson that I load it here hoping to foster his interest in my hobby but I dont think I shall bring him back here to see this.
