Exclamation Re: Polish crew from Royal Air Force - 300. Squadron

Hello ,

According to Chorley's Bomber Command losses 1942 page 128 :

Wellington Mk IV Z1256 BH-A took off from Bingham .Shot down by a nightfighter and crashed in the Elbe Estuary.Initiallu five off the crew were buried at the Brackswalde with Sgt Kropacz resting at Wittmund. All now lie in rest at Sage War Cemetery.

According to Nachtjagd War Diaries by Dr Theo EW Boiten page 97 Z1256 was shot down by oblt Rudolf Schoenert from 4./NJG 2 in the Elbe Estuary near Rysum west off Emden at 0149 hrs. It was Schoenert's 19th victory.
