Mario Dell'Innocenti info?

Of all the high-ranking Italian aces, this one has me stumped. I have seen his name in numerous lists, with a score of 12 flying for 150 Gruppo and KIA 3/7/43. But that is all the information I can find about him.
Can anyone help with more? Or at least let me know where I can find more?
As far as I can see, Osprey's Italian Aces and Shores' History of the Med Air War vol3 don't mention him.
Also interesting that one Wiki list of Italian Aces lists him, but the Wiki list of Regia Aeronautica aces does not...... and neither does Safarik's list.
Thanks in advance
Peter

Re: Mario Dell'Innocenti info?

Peter,

You mentioned searching vol 3 of History of the Med Air War.
I do not know whether that means you do not have the first two volumes or if it means that those first two are not worth checking because his service commenced too late in the war.

...In any case, I checked the index of both of the first 2 volumes and if it helps any, I found no entry for him in either

Re: Mario Dell'Innocenti info?

Hello

Sorry to disappoint you,but he has never been credited with 12 victories, and is not even an "ace".

This figure corresponds to a kind of very confused "patchwork" that mixes, the probable, the damaged, the real ones (only one documented),the shared ones, peddled years after years without the being a beginning of proof.

Now,if anyone can prove otherwise, thanks to him.

Michel

Good work, Michel.
Dodgy sources lead to dodgy info, misinformation in fact....

Re: Mario Dell'Innocenti info?

Thank you Michel. I had guessed as much.
But what information, if any, is there on him?

Re: Mario Dell'Innocenti info?

Thank you for correcting me Alessandro.
I don't think I was having a very good day when I created this thread. Not only did I post it in the wrong area, but I got the name wrong too!! Of course it is Giovanni! The Mario I crossed him with was Veronesi, next line up in my database ........ Poor proof reading on my part.
I don't suppose it makes any difference with info on Dell'Innocenti though?
Peter
