Unknown Czech Pilot

I am trying to put a name to this Czech pilot.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I suspect it is 312 Sqn at Speke. The date is December 1940.

(PS - Sorry VoyTec, I seem to be following in your shadow on our respective quests!)

Re: Unknown Czech Pilot

Hi Andy,

your unknown Czechoslovak pilot is Sgt. Vojtěch SMOLÍK (*1914 - +1991) pilot of No. 312 (Czechoslovak) squadron. He finished ww2 like Flight Lieutenant with DFC. Between 1.2.1944- 11.7.1944 he commanded B flight of No. 312 (Czechoslovak) squadron.

hope this helps

Milan

Re: Unknown Czech Pilot

Thank you, Milan!

That is very very helpful, and good to put a name to this photograph in my collection.

I much appreciate your help.

Re: Unknown Czech Pilot

Indeed so.

Unfortunately, VoyTech, those of us West of Berlin can neither spell it nor pronounce it!!! :-)
