Ju 88 A-4 Spinner

Can anyone confirm the unit that used such markings? Both Ed and myself think we know which unit but would like confirmation

Re: Ju 88 A-4 Spinner

This kind of spinner decoration was introduced by KG 1 during spring 1942.

Re: Ju 88 A-4 Spinner

Hi Chris

These images are from an album belonging to a man from 5./KG1. The propeller quarter markings are similar but only one has the additional circle markings; apparently in a different colour to those shown previously. The image with the Ju88 forming the background for the crew walking towards the camera has the two-tone markings and includes Major Herbert Lorch, Gruppenkommandeur II./KG1, appointed July 1942. Hopefully this helps a little in narrowing things down by being related but slightly different...! I assume the colours reflect Gruppe or Staffel colours.

Re: Ju 88 A-4 Spinner

Ring in Staffel colour, segments Gruppen colour (!?)
Seems all colors in use. Not markings expert per se on these.
Orthocromic film emulsions complicate (colur) matters -Ed
