Lt. Friedrich Puhlmann KIA 26.4.1945
A JG 4 loss list has - 26.4.45 Wittstock , 9/JG4 Lt. Friedrich Puhlmann gef. mit Ju 52 abgeschossen . However the excellent Luftwaffe Officers Careers Summaries has the same date but III/JG4 KIA Bf109 in combat near Rossow . Is any information available to confirm the circumstances of his loss,
Thanks Brian Bines |

Don't know which loss list you refer to, but Mombeek in his Sturmjäger Band 2 lists this loss the same way as Luftwaffe Officers Careers Summaries does. B Rgds Stig |

Re: Lt. Friedrich Puhlmann KIA 26.4.1945
Thanks Stig, the list is the type written loss lists which I believe were complied just after the war the ones I have are JGs 2,3,4 and 6 . I am not certain whether the 'mit Ju 52 abgeschossen ' implies Puhlmann was a passenger in the Junkers or whether he was shot down while flying escort to it. The two locations Wittstock and Rossow seem a fair distance apart,

Re: Lt. Friedrich Puhlmann KIA 26.4.1945
Thanks for the update Brian
I was not aware there were such lists, so early. Presumably more details have been found later. However when I looked up Rossow on the map I located many different ones. First one (only called Rossow) is much closer to the present day Polish border, while a second one is in fact called Rossow Wittstock/Dosse and is almost north of Berlin. If I then may venture a guess, I would say both Rossow and Wittstock are correct and it is in fact this place which is ment. However someone much more educated in the intricacies of German placenames should have a go at all this.... B Rgds Stig |

Probably type written lists are from the 70's....probably Girbig lists?
Thanks, John |
