Need info on FW-190 CRASH...

Someone I know is trying to ID a Fw190 crash...so far this is the only info. Can anyone help narrowing down to a small list of losses in this area and timefram (date)?

JG54
Crash Site - Latvia, Ergli
Crashed between 7-18 August 1944

I know not a lot of info...but if anyone has any thoughts, it would be great!

Thanks,

Mike

Hello!

For what it is worth.
If Neugut is the same as Vecmuiza*, Latvia then the location of the Aug 15th JG54 loss is some 210 kilometer (130 miles) apart from Ergli. At least if maps.google.com gives right location for the Vecmuiza.

Wasn't Rudel shot down on the same Ergli area Aug 18th or 19th, 1944?

Cheers,
Kari

We recovering deep burred and sunken ww2 planes in that region. If you need to check some crash site, we can do it with search equipment - water and earth magnetometer, also frame metal detector with 3x4 meter coil (10-12 meters deep). PM for details.

Besides Rudel, there was also another Ju 87 loss. If you are not sure about the type, this might fit:
1944-08-19, 9./SG 2, Ju 87D-5, 140798, T6+CT, 8 km nordöstlich Ergli, Absturz und Aufschlagbrand infolge Flakvolltreffer. Bruch 100 %.
Flugzeugführer Ofhr von Varnbühler, Axel, +
Bordfunker Uffz Hiller, Helmut, +
