AIRFIX World War II Aircraft of the Aces

Hello there Gentlemen,

some of you might remember the AIRFIX "World War II Aircraft of the Aces" model kit series. There was beautiful artwork on the boxes plus a portrait of the ace who flew the plane. My band colleague compiled a book about that series and endowed me with it. I tried to find out how many kills the aces have scored in the featured aircraft type, respectively. These are my results:

• 2081: J.E. Johnson scored 29,08 [27+5] of his 36,92 [34+7] kills in the Supermarine Spitfire MkIX
• 2082: R.R. Stanford Tuck scored 7 of his 27,67 [27+2] kills in the Hawker Hurricane Mk1
• 2083: Henry W. Brown scored all of his 14,2 [13+3] kills in the North American P51B Mustang
• 2084: Robert S. Johnson scored 25 of his 27 kills in the Republic P-47D Thunderbolt
• 2085: Josef Priller scored 43 of his 101 kills in the Focke-Wulf Fw190A
• 2086: Adolf Galland scored 57 of his 104 kills in the Messerschmitt Bf109E
• 2087: David McCampbell scored all of his 34 [33+2] kills in the Grumman F6F Hellcat
• 2088: Thomas McGuire scored 16 of his 38 kills in the Lockheed P38H Lightning
• 2089: John C. Meyer scored 15,5 [15+1] of his 26 [25+2] kills in the North American P51D Mustang
• 2090: Ira Kepford scored all of his 16 kills in the Vought F4U Corsair
• 2091: Georgi Zakharov scored: 1-5? of the 19+4? kills in the Yakovlev Yak-3
• 2092: Erich Hartmann scored 0-2? of his 352 kills in the Messerschmitt Bf109K
• 2093: Saburo Sakai scored 56,25 [54+19] of his 58,25 [56+19] kills in the Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero
• 2094: Evan Dall Mackie scored 5,5 [5+1] of his 21,5 [20+3] kills in the Hawker Tempest V

I'm still looking for info that reveals the Yak-3 score of Zakharov and the Bf109K score of Hartmann.

• 2093: Saburo Sakai scored 56,25 [54+19] of his 58,25 [56+19] kills in the Mitsubishi A6M Zero, of these 51,25 [49+19] in the A6M2

J.C. Myer was credited with 23.5 air victory credits and 2.5 MiG credits in Korea.

P-47D 2-1-0 air VC's
P-51B 5.5-0-0 air VC's his only shared air VC was a shared FW 190 victory on April 10, 1944 with Luksic
P-51D 16-0-1 air VC's



Henry Brown was credited with 14.2 air victory credits in the following distribution:

P-47D 0 air VC's (plus 4 ground)
P-51B 8-0-0.2 (share Do 217 with four others) plus 4.5 ground
P-51D 6-0-1 air VC's (plus six ground)

I wonder if Thomas McGuire is the best choice for representing the P-38H.
He scored 16 kills in it. Is he the most successful ace of that subtype ?

• 2083: Henry W. Brown scored all of his 14,2 [13+3] kills in the North American P51B Mustang
• top ace of that type: Glenn Eagleston, 18,5 [18,1] kills in that type
• 2084: Robert S. Johnson scored 25 of his 27 kills in the Republic P-47D Thunderbolt
• top ace of that type: Francis Gabreski, 28 kills in that type
• 2085: Josef Priller scored 43 of his 101 kills in the Focke-Wulf Fw190A
• top ace of that type: Otto Kittel, at least 244 kills in that type
• 2086: Adolf Galland scored 57 of his 104 kills in the Messerschmitt Bf109E

Can anybody tell me if any ace scored more than 16 P-38H kills ?
