Lufwaffe over England
There is Martin Middlebrook's book of BC raids; is there anything similar; book or other source ; for LW night raids over England for 1940-41 in particular?
BTW anyone know if luftwaffe-experten.org and lwag.org are still active? |

Re: Lufwaffe over England
The LW Experten board has been replaced by http://luftwaffe-research-group.org/index.php - about two years or more ago. If you remember your user credentials to the old board you may still be able to get in. The lwag.org still appears to be active, though I haven't been there in a dog's age.
There are number of titles that cover the 'Blitz', the best being 'The Blitz, Then & Now', all of 3 volumes. Others may have better suggestions. |

Re: Lufwaffe over England
Alfred Price's "Blitz on Britain 1939-45", although that's about 40 years old now, I think. As usual he gave a lot of coverage to the technology used by both sides.
Then there are social histories like Angus Calder's "The People's War" and Juliet Gardner's "The Blitz". For anexample of the humour at the time, got to YouTube and find the song "The Deepest Shelter In Town" by Florence Desmond. |

Re: Lufwaffe over England
Alfred's book was exactly 40 years old and a good starter but there have been better books since/new information

Re: Lufwaffe over England
Hello
Balke, Ulf, Der luftkrieg in Europa: Die Operativen Einsätze des Kampfgeschwaders 2 im Zweiten Weltkrieg Teil I. Koblenz: Bernard & Graefe Verlag, 1989. Is very good. It of course is mostly on KG 2 but gives a lot of general info on LW attacks. |

Re: Lufwaffe over England
Thanks for all the replies. To be more specific, I am looking for something with raid info like Middlebrook's BC Diaries or better yet Boiten's Nachtjagd War Diaries.
Unfortunately I don't read German; might have managed French if I could remember it all! Chris; does your book give numbers and possibly more details like which KG's were involved. I assume Luftflotte 3 |
