Re: What Airplane and UNIT??

Without looking at the details, combining single engine and resembling a He 111 might indicate a He 70 Blitz.

Better look on the Russian side.
Not definitely. I own a picture of an French MB.200 with a big tactical number "5" on the fin and without an number on the fuselage.

Best wishes

Now, it's important to know what we are talking of.
Was this photograph taken during the war or at an unspecified time?
On French bombers, tactical numbers migrated from the fin to the flanks at the turn of the year 1939/1940. Furthermore, apart from one foolish mission early in Sept. 39, no Bloch 200 ever took part in any mission during the campaign of France.
The Bloch 200 had a squared single tail that hardly matches the more rounded one in your photograph.
Regards,

Chris

Re: What Airplane and UNIT??

Dear All,

after bothering the eye witness many times he gave me an other pic showing the plane completly. He was not happy to post it here but after I promised him to put a copyright text on it he accepted. Now I think it is more easy and hopefully we find the answer.

Thanks in advance

Rolfeb

The picture was taken "after the war" in 1940. It's an captured bomber on a French air field.

Best wishes
