Part of an Aircraft?
Found this part on a flee market and the elderly lady who sold it was insisiting it's a part of a former WWII airplane.
Her husband was collecting parts of american bomer but past away. Is it a part of an WW II airplane? Thanks in advance Rolf Last edited by Rolfeb; 2nd April 2010 at 16:53. |

Re: Part of an Aircraft?
Possibly a combuster can from an early jet engine. There would be several of these arranged in a circle around the center shaft, between the compressor and the turbine. For example, see the cutaway at http://www.californiasciencecenter.o...J47/GE_J47.php , there is one can at the top and another at the bottom, with the "fire" inside. The lamp cord is probably a later modification.
