Picture Fairey Battle
Hello,
We just bought on Ebay this photo this weekend. We believe we have identified the aircraft as a Fairey Battle. In the photo it says loss between Saint Malo and Cancale. We believe between May and June 40. http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/88...ireybattle.jpg Unfortunately Fairey losses are almost nonexistent in Brittany, one known on June 14 in Vitre. http://www.absa3945.com/15%20juin%20...tle_l5513_.htm We seek to identify the Fairey Battle.

Hello Daniel,
The Fairey Battle in your photo is L5524 of 150 Squadron, lost on 13 June 1940 near Aigleville during an attack on German columns between Vernon and Evreux. There are many photos of this wreck, but I have only seen one other which clearly shows the buildings in the background. Regards, Martin Gleeson.
