Recon mission ?
Hello.
9/9/1944, Lyon Bron (France), 10h00. 2 spitfire IX of the 111th son RAF took off. It was an alert because vapors trails had been seen north of Lyon over 26000 feet (vector: north to south). No contact with the target ... Is it possible that was a high altitude recon mission above the Rhone Valley by the Luftwaffe ? In this case can you tell me more about the unit and the planes ? Thanx.
