Loss He 111 Wnr 3363 4./KG53 11th January 1941

Dear all,

Has someone perhaps more information on file concerning the loss of He.111 Wnr 3363 from 4./KG53 which was lost on 11th January 1941?

I've an indication that the rescue launch of IJmuiden (The Netherlands) sailed out in vain for this aircraft. There may be a possibility that this aircraft actually crashed just inland near Zandvoort.

Thanks for your reply. This must be the one I'm after. Are you sure about the Werknr and unit as there's a difference with my data. However, these data are from secondary source, so there may be a fault on my side.

Hans, I have checked back and 1/KG53 w.n. 3633 are on the Luft.Loss Returns, having looked more carefully the Heinkel was an H-5. Unless there was a later correction I expect this is correct, I could not find any mention in the KG53 book,
