defect in the unhooking of the bombs

hello
I'm writing the story of the planes crashed in Veneto (Italy) during the second world war. I noticed that many planes crashed because they exploded due to a defect in the unhooking of the bombs. I'm looking for material related to this problem. Is there an investigation file? Does anyone have information to help me deepen this topic? Thank you for every help.

Elena,

You may contact il signor Freddy Furlan from FVG, senior member on https://www.archeologidellaria.org/index.php
He wrote an article about that problem encountered by some P-40's of the DAF.

Auguri

Re: defect in the unhooking of the bombs

For John Beaman:

The squadrons involved in these "incidents" are different:
111° Sqn. RAF (Chapman)
417° Sqn. RCAF (Cotnam)
72° Sqn. RAf (Jennings)
43° Sqn. RAF (Holliss)
93° Sqn. RAF (Allen?)
450° Sqn. RAf (Wingfield).

There are not only these aircraft fallen between the Romagna and the Veneto. Now I can not find any more, but I will do a specific job of collecting data to analyze in detail which squadrons received faulty bombs.

John,

As you can see, however, the squadrons that received faulty bombs were mostly those of the 324th Wing.

Re: defect in the unhooking of the bombs

Freddy Furlan told me more cases of crashed aircraft for the same reason. They would be 450° RAAF, 3rd Sqn. SAAF and 454° (of which I do not know anything), Apart from this
Squadron, I understand that the wing involved in the failure to release the bomb were 239° and 324°.
Airplanes involved: Spitfires, Kittyhawk, Mustang.
