Smile Lt. John Guerrant from 355th FG/357th FS

Hello gentlemen,

Anybody have a photograph about this pilot who was killed in action the
june 7th, 1944 over Normandy ?
He was affected at the 357th Fighter Squadron / 355th Fighter Group, 8th air force. His aircraft was a P-51B #42-106810.

Thanks in advance
Regards
Loïc

Re: Lt. John Guerrant from 355th FG/357th FS

I do not have a pic of Guerrant, but know the a/c was Hodge Kirby's OSN "Arkansas Traveler" 42-106810.

Think he was shotdown by 109's near Aquigny along with MacFarlane and Holman. The 357FS also lost two more to flak for the worst loss of the war for them in any one day. That was also tied for the worst day for air to air losses for any squadron in the 355th FG. The 358FS lost 3 on 1-29-1944 and the 354 lost 3 on 8-03-1944 (two to a mid air collision).

If I find one in my collection I will post it to you.

Regards,
Bill Marshall
