Thank you for telling us, Jørn. Can you indicate which documents have been added, or at least which new documents have you seen on the website?

Regards,

Dan

Re: German docs in TSAMO

Hi all

There is a vast amount of info available from the German Docs in Russia site in the link put up by Junker., which was put up on 27 December 2018 e.g. A list of I Flak division claims for 16 -31 Aug 1942, a list of aircraft flown on 21 Jan 1943 in the Caucasus region, although not strictly Flak related it helps. This list includes codes and take off times.

I have only had a quick look at 3 of the 253 cases.

Cheers

Russell

Cheers,
Andreas

PS: I am happy to share out and continue seeding if that (or another torrent) is still alove

Re: German docs in TSAMO

Dear all,

for what it is worth, I wanted to "repay" a little of the generosity Andy has shown me yesterday and today. I wrote a little script that "queried" the actual server and dumped the set of actually existing files into an Excel Sheet.

Unfortunately, this forum's software is to stubborn to allow me to attach it - nonetheless, if there is any interest: grab it from here. (you need to open it in Excel to be able to use the filters and save it locally)

What does it contain: well, the first tab is more or less for me - it is quick-links to the currently available catalogs. The second tab is more interesting. It contains all the 4145 documents I was able to locate on the server. The first column gives you the web address (copy & paste to your browser. The second column identifies the catalog they are stored in (so you can use the filter at the first line to limit to a specific catalog if you want. And last: the third column contains the file description.

I did it because I was courious if 12452 was just "hidden" or not "there" and if any other catalogs might be hidden... so far: no surprises, no late xmas gifts...

Andreas

Re: German docs in TSAMO

Andreas, thank you very much!

This is excellent. Is it possible to make it even better by adding the full file description (Annotation) to each record? Taking the case of http://wwii.germandocsinrussia.org/de/nodes/828 as an example, the title of the file is very short compared to the Annotation.

Title in file

Aktentitel:

Dokumente.

Annotation:

Update from my side: yes, the first one would certainly be possible - but I have gone a step further and wrote myself a script to leech that server... I have downloaded all of Catalog 12466 as a test (which seemed to produce the expected result) and will now continue with 12472.

At the moment, there is one directory per file with the individual pages in the correct sequencing and an XML file that holds the file's metadata (including the lengthier description you requested above.

I am back at work tomorrow but there is certainly stuff to play with...

Andreas
