Re: Captured German planes, not from eBay

These pictures were not normally free to view. And I am one of a very few who were granted acces before these pictures were put online. Normal fee for one picture is about 750 DKK=100 EUR. In the end there will be more LW pictures, because I have seen most of them and quite a few still awaits publishing on the site. If you publish them there is a fee to pay as well.

Sadly the people running this service do normally not consider non professionel historians as a valid source for informations.

Sadly this appears case of professional vanity. Other factors are competion for funds, that does not serve anyone. I know for a fact Aviation History is largly ignored in many countries, like here, and no teachers. Even many air-, airport companies and aviation authorities suffer from incopetence - in that no one there knows their own history - or aviation history in general.

Re: Captured German planes, not from eBay

This post refers to p. 4, No. 34, "Ju 88, Me 410 Being Wrecked" posted by Marc Haldiman. The photo in question is of a badly smashed Me 410 with other debris in the background, said Beldring, Denmark, 1945.

At the rish of being derided, I have tried to work with the above photo to
identify the Werknummer beneath the Hakenkreuz. I now believe it to
be 470 150. At least, I'm pretty sure of x70 150. I confess that 470 150 lies beyond the 470 140 normally cited for the last of the 470 xxx block, but if Petrick/Stocker are correct, it cannot be 170 150, 100 per. loss in 1944.

Comments would be welcomed here. Perhaps Jörn Junker has some ideas
about my observations.

Re: Captured German planes, not from eBay

Greetings Rabe,
Absolutely no derision here, but if you’re referring to this photo:
http://samlinger.natmus.dk/FHM/asset/214015
Then I think it’s actually Bf 410 B-3 (WNr. 190156).
I attempted to post an enlargement of its Werknummer, but failed miserably.
Respectfully,
Steve Sheflin

Re: Captured German planes, not from eBay

Greetings Everyone,
Regarding Post #36,
At the risk of repeating well-known information, these six Ju 88 G-6 night fighters were found abandoned at Fårhus, Denmark, just across the border from Germany. They were last operational with II./NJG4 and at least two featured FuG240 N-12 Berlin dish radar with a wooden nose cone.
Respectfully,
Steve Sheflin
