Luftwaffe Ashtray

Could anyone help with the following which is engraved on the bottom of an ashtray 'LN.RGT.212 ' followed by 'Kriegsweihnachten 1942'. There are also some signatures, any info. on this unit at Christmas 1942 would be a great help,
Regards
Brian

Re: Luftwaffe Ashtray

It seems to be "Luftnachrichten Regiment 212", but this unit was formed according to Michael Holm´s web site on May 20th 1943.

Re: Luftwaffe Ashtray

Hi,
Exceptionally MH is not quite right. The following is a (slightly abridged) quote from Hoffmann II/1.

bzw neu aufgestellt
Die 2 Jagd-Division (Stade) mit Ln-Rgt 202, 212 und 222,
Die Ln-Regimenter der 2. Jagd-Division im nordwestdeutsch-dänischen Raum gliederten
sich damals wie folgt (Nafü 2. JD Obstlt. Dr. Ahrens):
Ln-Rgt. 212 in Schleswig Kdr. Obstlt. Dr. Weisensee
I/212 (1.- 6. Kp.) in Schleswig
II/212 (7. - 12. Kp.) in Schleswig
III/212 (13. - 18. Kp.) in Kolund/Dänemark
IV/212 (19.-24. Kp.) in Neumünster
25. (techn.) Kompanie
