Query concerning Gefreiter Franz Irg - lost 15th September 1940

Hi,

I have put this information on before but no one could help.

After researching another Luftwaffe loss for the same day - Uffz. Georg Huber, who was listed in the Battle of Britain Then and Now, from 5/KG 2 I am wondering if FRanz Irg was part of that crew.

The reference lists the other crew members as:

Uffz. Boehmel killed
Uffz. Moebius and Gefr. Birg missing
Could this Birg be a mis print?

Rick

Yes, he was BS of Do 17 Z, Werk-Nr. 2304, U5+HN.

The whole Crew was:

Uffz. Gerhard Böhme FF, KIA
Uffz. Erich Möbius BO, MIA?
Uffz. Georg Huber BF, KIA
Gefr. Franz Irg BS, MIA?

The a/c was shot down by fighters (Spits of 19.Sqdn?)

Thanks Brian et al for the information.

I have over 100 sterbebild of Luftwaffe aircrew lost over England and confirmation over Gef. Ing means that I have now paired up two aircrew from the same crew.

Concerning image of diary man I will try to learn how to use the scanner and send you a copy Brian.

Many thanks
