Re: Photos USAAF Telergma 1943
The B-24Ds in photos 82, 88 and 90 are 44th BG from the Eighth (circle "A"); with their "Eightballs" unofficial insignia. The Eighth B-24s were Olive Drab, most Ninth AF were Sand-Neutral Grey ( "Brewery Wagon" no.36 from the 376BG was OD-NG).
Photo 78 is a P-40F from the 57FG not 33rd, with the 66FS "Exterminators" emblem. Photo 79 B-17F 42-30136 is "Ladie's Delight" 301BG. Photo 89, the A-36A 42-83830 is "Helsa Droppin" 86FBG, the bomb emblem is not a unit marking. They had small star-bars marked further forward. Nick |
