Hawker Hurricane crash October 22nd 1941

Hi,

A bit of a needle in a hay stack. Looking to ID pilot, squadron and serial of a Hawker Hurricane that crashed at RAF East Wretham on October 22nd 1941. The pilot was French, and the Hurricane was badly damaged.

Any help appreciated.

Steve

Hi Steve

Geoff Sinclair, our friend from 'Down Under' has the following details for you

22 October 1941: Hurricane IIB Z3029 of 257 squadron, East Wretham, Undercarriage collapsed while taxying, turned too quickly in strong wind on soft ground, undercarriage weakened by previous heavy landings. Category B damage to airframe, no damage recorded to Merlin 188574. Sous Lt M.H.I. Daligot (Free French) safe, had 57 hours on Hurricanes.

Cheers
Stig

No need to Steve

He can read what we all say on TOCH but he cannot become a member.
Some glitch in the system.

Cheers
