German 109 parts?
Found these parts (see attachment) at a crashsite east of former airbase Y-29 in Zutendaal, Belgium. Anybody familiar with 109 parts? Anything recognizable? Thanks.

Re: German 109 parts?
Doesn't look like a Bf 109, at least for the 2nd part.
Background story may help. ClinA-78 |

Re: German 109 parts?
This research started as follows. In several books and publications about the Bodenplatte action above the Y-29 airfield, American pilots give a description about the location of some German crashsites. For example in “The Bluenoser” Vol. VIII-No 1 February 1994 (352nd Fighter Group Association) on p. 3: “My first burst brought hits from nose to tail, and the A/C rolled over from about 500ft., and went straight in less than ½ mile east of the field.” So with this information I went searching and found an interesting location on an aerial picture from 1945. And the PDF-files in this thread are the results of the detection. I have to say that very little was found at the spot. But the ground is certainly disturbed here. A big hole was dug. So I assume the site was investigated with the help of big machines (in the WWII period). Hereby attached some more parts.

Re: German 109 parts?
Apparently the parts seem NOT to be of German origin. As they are most certain coming from a plane with a combination of wood and metal structure, it is more likely that they belonged to Mosquito MV570. As this aircraft made an emergency crash-landing at 1km from the find-location.
