1st BAP VVS

Hi,

I'm looking for a bit of information about the Soviet 1st Bomber air regiment VVS during world war 2. All I need to know is how long the unit existed, if it was redesignated, and what aircraft it flew. I know that it was committed to the Western Front VVS around 10/41. (I'm a wargamer, so I don't need an operational history)

Thanks in advance,

Henry Weyers

Re: 1st BAP VVS

You probably think 1st SBAP (skorostnyj bombardirovochnyj aviapolk, High Speed Bomber Air Regiment)

from 10/1941 until Jan 7 1942 Battle of Moscow, equipped with SB-2
Jan 7 1942 - Feb 20 1942 completely destroyed, out of service
Feb 20 1942 renamed as 1st NBAP (nochnoy bombardirovochnyj aviapolk, Night Bomber Air Regiment), equipped with SB-2 and Ar-2
Nov 22 1942 renamed as 22nd Guard NBAP
June 30 1943 - Apr 9 1944 completely destroyed, out of service
Apr 9 1944 - end of WW2 once again on front, equipped with A-20 Boston
