132 Sqn claims: Fopp & Smith

I have a couple of queries re Australian claims with 132 Sqn; any help would be appreciated.
S/L Desmond Fopp is credited with a FW 190 destroyed, as a flight cdr with 132, but the details have thus far evaded me. Does someone know the date, location, and serial/codes?
In '2nd TAF Vol 1', F/O HS Smith is also credited with a FW 190 destroyed,
14/1/44; but was this actually F/O HL Smith, RAAF (411539)?

Cheers, Bruce

Re: 132 Sqn claims: Fopp & Smith

Hi Bruce

My list of 132 Squadron claims isn't complete. I don't have a FW190 recorded for Fopp, only a Do217 probable shared with Sgt RA Carr on 10/10/42.

I have HL Smith (KiA 11/6/44)

Cheers
Brian

Re: 132 Sqn claims: Fopp & Smith

F/Lt Fopp is credited with an FW-190 damaged on July 31, 1943.

On Jan 14, 1944 I have F/O Henry Lacy Smith as credited with an FW-190 destroyed. I do not have any HS Smith in my database.

Frank.

Hi Brian & Frank,

My source for the FW 190 destroyed for Des Fopp is his obituary in the Telegraph, 31/8/2005. It could be that he considered this destroyed but was credited with it only as damaged (?)
Obviously HS Smith is a typo; thanks for clearing this up.

Cheers, Bruce
