I am selling a stack of books
Hi
I am the inheritor of a quantity of books about aviation during World Wars 1 and 2. Sadly I do not share my grandfather's interest in flying. As they are quite nice items I would rather sell them here to people who might appreciate them (and it's an opportunity to make a bit of money on the side) rather than throw them away or give them to a charity shop. They are all hardbacks and although they have "Terry" or "Terence" (my grandfather's name) written on the inside front covers they are in pretty good condition considering their age. Here is the list of what I am selling at the moment: "The Last Battle" by P. Henn, William Kimber & Co. Ltd., 1954 "The Red Knight of Germany" by Floyd Gibbons, Cassell and Company Ltd., 1932 "They fought for the Sky" by Quentin Reynolds, Cassell and Comany Ltd., 1958 "The Eagle's Height" by Robert Elliot, Air Review Ltd., 1961 "Royal Airforce 1939-45: I: The Fight at Odds" by Dennis Richards, Her Majesty's Stationery Office, 1954 "Royal Airforce 1939-45: II: The Fight Avails" by Dennis Richards and Hillary St. G. Saunders, Her Majesty's Stationery Office, 1955 "Royal Airforce 1939-45: III: The Fight is Won" by Hillary St. G. Saunders, Her Majesty's Stationery Office, 1954 (The last 3 go together in a set) If you have any questions, are interested in buying one of these, want me to post pics or whatever just post here. I'm no connoisseur but I expect these to go for about 5-10 pounds each including P&P. If I get enough interest for a particular book I'll make an ebay listing for it. |

looks like there isn't much interest. am I potentially charging too much? are these books not even good? are they even valuable? even though they are 2nd or 3rd editions in a lot of cases

Re: I am selling a stack of books
You are not charging too much, far from it imho, but if you want a good indication check the search option at www.abebooks.com
Of course a lot depends on condition, dust jacket, edition etc The RAF series in reasonably good condition with dust jackets should fetch you around GBP 50,- or much more if mintish. Sorry that I can't be one of your buyers on this one.
