Bf 110 C-4 Crashed Munsgore Lane Borden 1940
The thread title above ends on 21 Feb 2015. Matti Salonen noted that the pilot was a Georg Bierling. My father commanded RAF Manston at the time and I recently found in his cufflinks box a pilots badge with the name Bierling scratched on the reverse. I believe the Museum in Kent may have some bits of the aircraft.
How would one go about finding if Georg Bierling had any issue, siblings or the immediate family and progeny? If so I wonder if his descendants would like the badge returned. |

Jeremy
Bierling was born in Hamburg 8 Sep 14 and mindful what happened to Hamburg in 1943, there is a strong likelihood that his family did not survive the war. If married, his wife would I suspect be of a similar age which puts her 100+ and their children if they had any probably in their 70-80s. If you care to PM me, I will help point you further but suspect it will be a hard job. Presume your father was Wg Cdr G A L Manton? Last edited by Chris Goss; 25th January 2020 at 09:40. |
