Oblt Werner Lemme
Please could somebody help me with a bit of career history?
A friend has purchased some papers relating to a WW2 Luftwaffe officer named Oblt Werner Lemme, who was born on 21 October 1912 in Posen. All we know about him other than that is he won medals during the annexation of Czechoslovakia and Austria and a bomber clasp in silver. Luftwaffe service began in 1935 and the record dries up for no evident reason in August 1941 when he was with KG3. The question is what happened after that? Our searches have revealed an Uffz of the same name killed on 16 May 1944 but probably unconnected unless our man managed to get busted from Oblt down to Uffz. While I’m only a green stick with this sort of research I’m confident that somebody on this forum will be able to provide either answers or pointers as to where to head next. Thanks in advance.
