Looks like the aircraft that was temporarily stored at CAF St Loius, since sold. It was originally the first MBB flight aircraft which crashed back in the 80's and is a hybrid 109 / Buchon.

That is correct...
It is a Buchon with 50% German parts. It was sold around 6 months ago, and is under restoration to flying condition with an original DB605/AS. it is the original Messerschmitt Foundation aircraft that crashed in 1980's and hit a tractor. mike |

@mike: the CAF is not longer the holder of this plane? Do you know the new owner? Is it still in the USA?

The CAF never owned the aircraft, they were looking after it for the then owner. regards Dave |

Re: some Bf109 images, anyone know it?
It is still in the USA. It was owned privately by a gentleman in Florida. A friend of mine rescued it from the floods that were plaguing St. Louis around 9 months ago, and the owner sold it to him.
Expect it to be airworthy in 4-5 years. The previous owner fixed it for display by adding BONDO (car putty/filler) to the damaged areas...so a lot of skins are going to be needing some replacement. We have confirmed that wings are G6, tail is G2 with retractable gear, and forward cockpit is Spanish. Unfortunately, all data plates were removed, so there is no way to confirm the ID of ANY of the German parts. There is a written werk number on the tail, which was assumed to be the original ID of most of the German parts. Restoration will begin this summer...
