Airfield Ebendorf bei Magdeburg?!

Dear all,

Some time ago I recieved several photos showing Luftwaffe planes on a Luftwaffe airfield on/after the 8th of May 1945. The photos were taken by American GI's and have captions on the back with the text "Ebendorf bei Magdeburg".
I always suspected that the photos were taken at Fliegerhorst Dedelstorf instead and luckily it looks like Dan O'Connell can prove me right as Me 262 "White 4" W.Nr. 500226 of 1./JG7 can be seen in the background in some of the photos. (Oblt. Walter Bohatsch landed this aircraft at Dedelstorf on the 8th of May 1945 while enroute from Zatec/Saaz to Fassberg.)

My question: Is "Ebendorf bei Magdeburg" just the typical GI geographical margin of error for "Dedelstorf" or did there really exist an official Luftwaffe airfield called Ebendorf bei Magdeburg?

Note: Dedelstorf is located 67 km north of Braunschweig, between Celle and Wolfsburg. According to my routeplanner, there is an "Ebendorf bei Magdeburg", seems a kind of suburb of Magdeburg. However, that's 100 km east of Braunschweig....

"Ebendorf bei Magdeburg" is not mentioned in the Dierich/Ries book about "Fliegerhorste und Einsatzhafen der Luftwaffe".

Thanks in advance,

Marcel

Try going to 52°10'56.76" 11°35'11.00"E with Google Earth.

I may be kidding myself but that looks like an old runway (measuring about 650 metres) at Edendorf and it is just outside Magdeburg.
