Bf 109 G ID needed
I suspect this 109 being a G-14 of II./JG 11 near Chartres, mid-August 44.
Can anyone help? Thanks. Chris PS - I dont have Prien's book. Last edited by CJE; 28th February 2009 at 07:03. |

Re: Bf 109 G ID needed
Not in Prien's book, But can be found in Forsyth's "Defending the Reich 1944-1945" book by Classic Pub. This photo and two others of this AC can be found on Page 227.
It is stated the photo was taken summer of 1944, and listed only as a G. Production of the G-14 started in July of 44, and this AC has the Erla Haube and Morane antenna under left wing making me think G14 also Chris. Although could be a new built G-6? Production of G-6 was supposed to end in June of 1944, However the 230,000 batch was built from Nov-Dec 1944. I still think G-14 though...... Kevin
