Looking for a German night fighter pilot

On the night of 4-5 July 1944, my wife's uncle was a bombardier on board a B-24 flying a Carpetbagger mission that was shot down near Lagny-le-Sec in France. There was a small Luftwaffe airfield nearby flying bf-110 night fighters and they had the misfortune to fly over at relatively low altitude. Am looking for info on the German pilot.

Another B-24 on a Carpetbagger mission -- the Meade crew -- was also shot down that night by a pilot named Strassner, I believe, and there has been some confusion in the records between the two aircraft.

The B-24 I am asking about is the Kline crew. I have a lot of info about the Kline crew -- all were KIA -- and their mission, but nothing on the German pilot.

Thanks

Re: Looking for a German night fighter pilot

Unit details might help-presumably 490th or 801 BGs? Possible claimants were Ofw Wilhelm Glitz, Uffz Gottfried Schneider, Ofw Johannes Strassner, Hptm Fritz Soethe?

Re: Looking for a German night fighter pilot

The Kline Crew was with 8th Air Force, 801st Bomb Group, 850 Bomb Squad. The flight originated from USAAF base station 179 (Harrington).

Re: Looking for a German night fighter pilot

I think I found it: 05-Jul-44, Uffz., Gottfried, Schneider, I., 3., NJG 3, PlQu. HF: 2800m, Nachtjagd War Diaries, V.II, p.98, prob. 801BG/850BS B-24H 42-50386.

The Kline crew were flying B-24 42-50386.

Thanks for your help.
