Can someone identify this Lancaster please?

I'm sure I've seen this image before, but I curse myself for not recording the what/where/when. Help please! Coded "R"
I have a gut feeling for 100 Sqn. but I may be wrong. Where have I seen it recently (2-3 years ago?)
TIA

Hello,

No.463 (RAAF) Sqn Lancaster LL844:JO-R "GINGER MEGGS"

One place you will find a photo of LL844, is here:

Images Of War - Veteran Lancs - A Photographic Record of the 35 RAF Lancasters that each completed One Hundred Sorties.
Franks,Norman
Barnsley:Pen & Sword Aviation,2016.
p.163.

Caption reads:

Lancaster JO-R of 463 Squadron, believed to be LL844, flew at least seventy operations, and again has an interesting artwork figure known as 'Ginger Meggs'*. If correct, this aircraft had several adventures includling the loss of the rear turret anf gunner after a bomb hit the rear of the aircraft during a bomb run. This crash landing was not the result. Finally 'struck off charge' on 15 January 1947.

* An iconic, cheeky Australian cartoon character kid (always in trouble).

Col.

Re: Can someone identify this Lancaster please?

Hello,

Actual incident occurred on 27/28 September, 1944, when Lancaster I LL844:JO-R "Ginger Meggs", was shot up attacking Kaiserlautern. The pilot, AUS417673 F/O Murray Frank Sweeny RAAF, had to perform a wheels-up landing at Waddington with at least one 2,000lb bomb still on board. Sweeny was subsequently awarded a DFC for this and other long flights to attack German targets.
