Re: Russian airfields 1939

Robert,

These can be very difficult to find due to spelling errors and different spellings in different languages, e.g., Russian, Polish, Ukrainian, German and English. Here is what I have:

Borovskoye - (Borowskoje, Borowskaja, Borovskaya): 60 km SE of Smolensk and 7 km SW of Pochinka.
Mokraja - ??
Olsusiewo - possible misspelling of Olsufjewo? [Olsufyevo]: 60 km NW Bryansk and 4.15 km ENE of the village of Olsufyevo.
Sczastliwaja - ??
Szajkowka - possible misspelling of Shaikovka, a.k.a. Anisowo-Gorodischtsche, Anisovo-Gorodishche located 110 km N Bryansk, 107 km S of Vyazma, 105 km ENE of Roslavl, 31 km SE of Spas-Demensk and 1.25 km WNW of the village of Vypolzovo.
Szatalowo - possible misspelling of Shatalovo (Schatalowo, Schatalowa): 60 km SE of Smolensk and 1 km NW of Engelhardtovskaya railway station.
Wasilkow - [Wassilkow, Vasilkov, Vasylkiv]: C Ukraine 34 km SSW Kiev city center and 5.75 km N of Vasilkov (Vasylkiv) town or city center.
Zjabrowka - [Zyabrovka]: Gomel district in Gomel oblast - NKVD airfield No. 56.

Re: Russian airfields 1939

The airfield Schastlivaya mentioned in the memoirs of Alexander Halutin (commander of 249 IAP, summer 1941). The context describes the night urgent evacuation of the regiment from the airport Sutysky (between Zhmerinka and Vinnitsa - 49.041868, 28.413734). Apparently we are talking about the aerodrome near the village of "Schastlivaya" Lypovets'kyi district, Vinnyts'ka oblast, Ukraine - 49.206581, 28.897476
