F/L M. Baird-Smith Wellington 37 Sqn 8/11/40

Hi guys

On 8 November 1940, F/Lt Baird-Smith's Wellington (believed T2812) of 37 Squadron was attacked by Italian fighters en route for Malta. Two members of his crew were wounded.

1) Does anyone have note of their names and extent of injuries?

A second Wellington was also attacked, Sgt Spiller's N2757, and an armourer aboard as a passenger was wounded.

2) Does anyone have note of his name?

3) Does anyone known identities of the Italian pilots involved?

I've checked 37 Squadron's ORB without success.

Cheers
Brian

Hi Themis

No, I haven't checked the Appendices.

Do you have a copy?

Good to hear from you

Thanks, Chris

I've now checked 37 Squadron's relevant ORB appendices, but no joy!

Maybe there's an appropriate entry in Luqa's ORB (the Wellingtons initial destination).

Cheers
Brian
