JU88 W/n 4081 8/KG30 and w/n 3223
Does anyone have any history on the above aircraft?
I understand that it was damaged in combat 8th Oct 1940, but returned to its base in Eindhoven. It was lost at some stage later over the UK, but have nothing further. I have a plate from it that reads : Baumester RS.4 Werk Nr 4081 Anf. Z. F128018 Can anyone decode this for mas well? Is there a publication that allows german plates to be decoded out there? In addition, does anyone have any information on a JU88 with information on a plate as follows : ???rat Nr 9-211 J-1 Werk Nr MZK211 H-1 3223 Whilst looking at German langauge, I have a red plaque that reads : Dachabwurf gesichert entsichert Can anyone tell me what that means in addition? Many thanks Graham |

Re: JU88 W/n 4081 8/KG30 and w/n 3223
Dachkanzel = Cockpit/Cabin Roof
gesichert = locked entsichert = unlocked Probably refers to the unlocking mechanism for emergency escape from cockpit. bye, good luck |
