German treatment of captured Soviet Flying Personnel

Not to stir up a controversial subject...
In general, how did the Germans treat captured Soviet flightcrew?
It seems from a reading of the available literature, there was a huge variation.
Some examples:
(1) The tests using captured Soviet POW flightcrews for freezing tests in ice cold water. I remember reading that they used Soviet flightcrew because they wanted a comparison with Luftwaffe flightcrew.
(2) The use of the Luftwaffe Dulag-Ost where Soviet flightcrews were interrogated, kept apart from the other Allied flightcrews.
(3) High ranking captured (HSU winners) who were forced to serve in factories.
(4) Deplorable prison conditions/forced labor for the majority.
(5) However, I 've also seen instances of Soviet flightcrews being treated fairly well in Luftwaffe messes. Also, medical attention being given to the wounded.

No wonder the Germans recruited Soviet POWs for war service by brinnging a Goulash-Kannone into a Soviet POW camp and offering a full mel to anyone who joined up.

Re: German treatment of captured Soviet Flying Personnel

I think you have to make a distinction between what happens on Luftwaffe airfields when German airmen captured their opponents, and then what happened once the POWs were integrated into the general POW management of Nazi Germany, that was very harsh (to say the least) for Soviet.
The official line was the second one (Soviet, like all Slavs being subhuman beings in Nazi ideology).
