Le Bourget aerodrome, June 1940.
Hello all,
Could anyone please tell me if Le Bourget aerodrome near Paris was bombed any day during early June 1940, other than June 3rd (Operation 'Paula') ? Regards, Martin Gleeson. |

Re: Le Bourget aerodrome, June 1940.
Martin,
According to the war diary of Station Météo Principal n°1 (SP 1)- weather unit - at Le bourget the first attack on this A/F was on 3 june 1940. Neverthess this SP 1 left their billeting at Le bourget A/F on 16 May for Le Blanc-Mesnil but continue to work at Le Bourget A/F up to the 9 june. You have a nice photo of Dornier 17 of 1./KG2 over Le bourget A/F (misidentified as Epinoy) page 190 of the book on Dornier 17 (Goss/Crecy). Bertrand |
