RAF Fernhill

Guys, I have recently read various accounts of flying or aviation related training from Fernhill or Fern Hill, and yet I cannot find any mention of such a base on the web like Wiki etc

It is suggested that Fernhill is near Worcester.

I did see this but not much else

https://www.awm.gov.au/collection/C205943

I thought at one time it was Tern Hill but its not written or discussed as a work of fiction like describing RAF Northolt as 'RAF North Halt'

Any clues?

Re: RAF Fernhill

Larry. There was a radio school at Fern Hill ( or Fernhill Heath) close to RAF Worcester where No. 2 EFTS was based with Tiger Moths ( formed at Filton in Sept. 1939, then to Worcester in July 1942).
Regards
Nick

Hello,

The caption on the AWM photo is incorrect. The photo was taken at No.10 FTS, Ternhill, Shropshire, in 1937.
