Re: Ju 352 losses
Thanks again Ed
Yes I agree that a Flugbuch is very useful when it comes to locate more obscure types and if the individual mentions both WNr and Stkz so much the better! Pity the WNr ranges for the 352 are so similar and as you yourself point out, if we only have shortforms 0011 and 0017 great care has to be used to decide which ones they really are. Thanks also for the additional Stkz, very useful indeed! Cheers Stig |

The FB Grundke was actually intended for serious German researchers. I gave it a few years ago to the Museum at Bernberg, ahh, sorry Bernburg (Mr Sommerfeld, deceased) for their own research with the Note: Do not pass on! He passed it on half the world ... Regards Peter |

Re: Ju 352 losses
Peter, its the location given in the GQM report dated 23-3-45 page 7 item 74, a place I could not find. Following your post I have looked up the record again, which is hard to read, and replaced the "a" with a "z" . Having looked up Vietzker I assume it is was an airfield now called Wicko Morskie in Poland, any confirmation appreciated,

Re: Ju 352 losses
I do see there is more Ju 352 data in other Junkers aircrew logbooks. Berlet also flew with Grundke on 352´s, but neither book is stamped to Peter Achs. Besides doupt I´m "half the world", me not that large :-)

Re: Ju 352 losses
Please don't take it personally. This was just a note. You try to do your best.
Yes, its of course Vietzkerstrand. The question was a bit rhetorical. Ju 86 P, W-Nr. 0462 also crashed at Vietzkerstrand in September 1942. Regards Peter |

Re: Ju 352 losses
1. Lightweight (mostly German) a/c researcher, non German, ....
2. Add Ju 352 V10 CH+JJ and "100 006" KT+VF to "did exist" (confirmed flown) list (giving about 46 to 48 known), but move Ju 352 ´0019 destroyed in attack (100%) at Dessau 16.08.1944 to "which batch" - thus three damage reports are in GQM lists with only last four of serial; re-searching :-) Regards Ed |

Re: Ju 352 losses
The V19 was destroyed at Dessau in Hangar 202. Apart from that the 100019 was at the time already in service with Erg.Tr.G. at Schönwalde.
Berlet was a "discovery" of Sommerfeld, so he could to with the FB what he wanted. Regards Peter |

Re: Ju 352 losses
ok.
-> Looking in a few more logbooks this evening, this confirming the remainder of Stkz. used (no gaps), (even ignoring those with just last four reported, three - one solved) and W.Nr. batches are unchanged, not solving any if more letters were used in serials for either batch. Add Ju 352 V11 (10011) CH+JK (flown) and "100 007" to "did exist" (confirmed) list This giving now 47 (flown) in the various FB, 1 (one) 100007 destroyed on ground at Fritzlar 15.04.44 (thus total 48 known). Only 100001 KT+VA and 100002 KT+VB remain unknown (no info). Regards Ed Last edited by edNorth; 22nd April 2014 at 04:40. Reason: -> additional info. |
